Inbound and Outbound Call Service Solution for Service Providers
Traditional PSTN telephone network provides telephone call services based on TDM
technology, and its service providing and call control is fulfilled by traditional telephone
exchanges. Such technology is capable of ensuring voice quality but requires high
service cost and long turn around for development and delivery of new services.
Confronted by intensified competition, such technology has lost its luster and will
eventually be updated. However, the rapid progress of computer technology and wide
application of Internet accelerates the spread of VoIP based voice application. In the
developed countries and areas, due to the wide spread of broadband network access
and the open, transparent telecommunication policies, VoIP applications are focused on
multimedia and many value-added services, e.g. iPBX and IP-Centrex; however, in the
developing countries and areas, where broadband network application has not been
widely accepted, plus the clout of old telecommunication monopoly and objections from
the local government, the network construction and telecommunication environment are

[System Program]
· IP card program
IP card program adopts caller password authentication and prepay mode, especially
used by individual users. Voipack provides a total solution to IP card service.
Components involved include Voipack Message Server (VMS), Voipack Billing Server
(VBS) and Voipack Call Master (VCM). VMS provides the voice prompt, voice guidance
and voice query for users who dial in. VBS is a billing system. In addition to creating card
numbers and passwords by batch, it also offers authentication for the card numbers and
passwords, and provides the billing function that terminates calls made from an account
at low balance in real time. VCM provides call transfer and multi-routing function.

· "Dialer" program
ialer adopts caller password authentication and postpay mode, especially used by
corporation users. Components involved include Voipack Billing Server (VBS), Voipack
Call Master (VCM) and Voipack Message Server (VMS). “Dialer” program is identical to IP
card program except that users need not input card number or password any more.
Users can simply dial the number after picking up the phone. Another advantage of such
program consists in its capability to file the users having dialers currently, by which
dialers can be reset and users can be moved to the target platform.
 
· "Charging at caller side" program
"Charging at caller side" adopts caller number authentication, used by enterprises or
individual users. Components involved include Voipack Billing Server (VBS) and Voipack
Message Server (VMS). Such program performs billing though authentication of caller number.
 
· "Call termination" program
"Call termination" refers to voice traffic transferring from Internet to conventional PSTN
telecommunication lines. It is often adopted by developing countries for providing local
call termination for international incoming call and toll call, thus tremendously eliminates
toll call charge.
 
· "Phone bar" program
"Phone bar" service is a public telephone call service adopted in developing countries,
which caters to the intra-city floating population, features heavy peak toll call traffic but
normal voice quality. Components involved include Voipack Call Master (VCM), Voipack
