■ VBP Infinity Office Solution This solution is aimed to facilitate communications between management personnel and their co-workers in Small and Medium Enterprises. Most SMEs have legacy PBX system that provides internal communication solutions. SMEs are not demanding on complex functionality of their telephony system, but they highly require flexibility and mobility in daily operations. The PBX system has limitations on these two criteria. If a person is out of the office or working from his home, co-workers can just dial internal extension and reach him; vice versa, the person too also can dial his co- worker's extension without trouble dealing with another dial plan. Existing Telephone System Company who has legacy PBX system connected is shown in the following diagram: In this telephone system, only calls between internal extensions within one PBX system are free. For the person who is not in the office to connect to any extensions in the system, he needs to dial PSTN numbers to access the system, and then reach the internal extension. Vice versa, for the people working in the office who wish to contact an out-of-office co-worker has to pick up the systems' PSTN line then dial his co-worker's number. By connecting the FXO port of a VoIP gateway to the FXS port of the PBX, an assigned extension number will be provided to the FXO port. With pre-configuration, the gateway's FXO port will be connected to the SIP IP phone which is in the out-of-office worker site。Through the connections between the gateway and the PBX, the extension line in the worker's location can be allocated anywhere as needed Functionalities of VBP infinity office: ■ Communications inside the office remains unchanged. Extensions call each other by dialing extension numbers. ■ If the person outside the office dials General Manager’s extension “101” when the manager is not in the office, Manager's home extension “201” will ring. ■ The co-worker or employee can simply dial “201” to contact the General Manager at home. ■ The General Manager can simply dial extension number of the person at office to reach him. He may also dial external number to make calls to fixed PSTN number as if he is at office.
