■ VBP Mobile Extension Solution |
| Solution Description
| A salesperson or road warrior usually has more than one telephone numbers for |
| contact, the office extension when he's in the office, number for his business trip |
| location, and his mobile number. That too many contact numbers makes his manager, |
| colleagues and customers confused, and himself hard to manage. The “One Number” |
| service (where telephones of different PSTN numbers will ring simultaneously when |
| called) offered by some service providers are developed to solve the problem; however, |
| it cannot realize the interconnection between office extensions and mobile phones while |
| reducing communication costs. Voipack’s VBP Mobile Extension solution is aimed to solve |
| such problem. It associates office extension number, mobile phone number and home |
| PSTN number together, when the salesperson or road warrior gets a call, the three |
| telephones ring simultaneously, and he can pick up the call depending on where he is |
| located. The dialing method remains unchanged, and no extra communication |
| expenditure is incurred. |
| Solution Topology |
| The figure below depicts existing enterprise communication system layout. Persons who |
| wish to contact the salesperson or road warrior, have to choose among a lot of |
| telephone numbers (PSTN number, mobile phone number and office extension number), |
| this is inconvenient, time consuming and incurs phone bills. |
| With VBP Mobile Extension solution, the PBX system can be upgraded to a migrated VBP |
| telephony system as shown in the topology below. |
| In VBP Mobile Extension solution, |
| Extension 101 in the PBX system connects with an FXO port of a Gateway, associate it |
| with an FXS port to the VBP system, this way, Extension 101 can be reached by any |
| extension in the PBX. |
| In addition, the FXS port then is associated with the salesperson’s PSTN number and |
| mobile phone number. The three telephones can be rung by turns, such as Round Robin |
| or Fixed. When the salesperson is in the office, he can disable the One Number function, |
| by doing so, only extension 101 in the office location will ring; |
| When he is not in the office, he can enable the One Number function, and choose to |
| receive calls from his pre-assigned PSTN telephone or mobile phone number, according |
| to his arrangement. |
| With this solution, the existing dialing plan will remain intact. No matter where the |
| salesperson is, his colleagues in the office will only need to dial his current office |
| extension, without any hassle. |
| One extra note, if soft-phone is applied, people working in the office may communicate |
| with the salesperson just by dialing 201(see diagram). |
