VBP Branch Connect Solution
Solution Description
With growing business development of a company, more branch offices and subsidiaries
are established; however, such branch offices and subsidiaries usually scattered in
different locations. The constant communication between offices and subsidiaries and
the headquarters of different cities, states or countries incurs very high local and long
distance toll fee. Legacy PBX cannot solve the problem, Voipack's VBP Branch Connect
Solution to tackle such obstacle.
Solution Topology
The figure below depicts Branch Connect Solution. Branch 1 is a subsidiary company at
the same building where the headquarters locates. Extensions of 10x may interconnect
with extension 20x by dialing extension number directly, however, extensions of 30x in
Branch 2 must call extensions of Branch 1 and headquarters by dialing a PSTN number
first, because Branch 2 is located at a different place. Such telephony system not only is
inconvenient for use but also incurs very high phone expense to the company.
The dialing plan of such enterprise telephony system is as follows:
Extension 101 calls 102: Dial 102 directly;
Extension 101 calls 202: Dial 202 directly;
Extension 301 calls 102: Dial “0” to reach the PBX's PSTN line, and then dial
“5877xxxx”
then dial extension “102”;
Extension 101 calls 302: Dial “0” to reach the PBX’s PSTN line, and then dial
“5817xxxx”
then dial extension “302”.

The topology for VBP Branch Connect Solution is shown as below:
Both the branch office of Branch 2 and the headquarters are connected with the
Internet via two VoIP gateways, so that they can communicate with each other by VoIP.
In this solution, PBX's PSTN lines are connected with the gateway's FXS port, and the
Voipack Softswitch Server (VSS) will assign corresponding ports to the gateway to
establish the call between Branch 2 and the headquarters as well as Branch 1.
The dialing plan will remain unchanged, except that the dialing plan between Branch 1
and 2
will be simplified as follows:
Extension 101 calls 301: Dial “98”, and then dial “301” after the second dial tone;
Extension 301 calls 201: Dial “89”, and then dial “201” after the second dial tone.
Note: Current dialing plan of the company’s existing PBX system is kept unchanged

This solution not only simplifies dialing process, but also reduces communication
expense within company, which will be zero!
