¡ö V C M |
| Voipack Call Master (VCM) is the core subsystem within the Voipack Soft Switch System |
| (VSS) performing call
control function. VCM provides the device registration and |
| authentication, call routing, call establishment, call features and call detailed record¡¡ |
| generation. VCM supports various VoIP protocols, adapts to diverse network |
| environments, unifies multiple media formats, and co-works with most leading 3rd party |
| VoIP terminals. VCM is a reliable, manageable, and expandable service platform for |
| enterprises and service providers. VCM is built around MGCP, H323, and SIP standard |
| protocols. Base on distributed architecture and clientserver framework, VCM is designed |
| for expandability and fault-tolerant reliability. VCM consists of 5
modules: MGCP Call |
| Agent (CA), H.323 Gatekeeper (GK), SIP Proxy Servers (PROXY), common Call
Processor |
| (CP), and Network Management Server (NMS). CA is responsible for MGCP terminal |
| registration, authentication, and device control. GK is responsible for |
| H.323 terminal registration,
authentication, and call routing according to various call |
| termination criteria. PROXY is responsible for SIP
terminal registration, authentication, |
| and routes call through consultation of SIP Redirector. CP is
responsible for call |
| establishment, provides enhanced features, such as call transfer, 3-way conference, |
| and translates signaling between terminals based on different protocols. NMS provides |
| GUI for
administrators, maintains operational database and sends alarm messages |
| upon system fault events.
Through the communication of standard VoIP and Radius |
| protocols, VCM is capable of inter-working with 3rd party products. |
| ¡öProduct Features |
| [Protocol Translation] |
| ¡¤VCM provides a uniformed configuration interface for terminals of different protocols. |
| VCM
transparently translates the protocols among them, and the caller is not aware |
| about which protocol the callee uses. |
| |
[Compatibility] |
| ¡¤VCM is compatible with various 3rd party VoIP equipments such as digital trunking |
| gateway from
Cisco, analog gateway from Nortel and Huawei£¬ WIFI SIP Phone from |
| DBTel, H323 video Phone from UTron and Datong. |
| |
| [Dynamic Socket] |
| ¡¤VCM will exchange information with CPEs to adopt new IP address or TCP/IP port |
| upon network
blocking. |
| |
| [Flexible Routing Policy] |
| ¡¤VCM enables service providers to define multiple routing policies, so that VCM can |
| switch to an
alternative route upon network problem or congestion. Both users' voice |
| quality and services providers'
cost are satisfied. |
| ¡¡¡¡ |
| [System Cluster] |
¡¤A set of VCMs can be organized in a cluster. It balances the loading and improves |
| reliability.
¡¡ |
[N+1 Backup] |
| N+1 backup system will dispatch an available VCM to take over the role of a failing VCM |
| upon hardware or network failures. |
| |
| [Event Notification] |
| The MIS staff will be notified by short messages upon critical events to prevent network |
| or environmental problems. |
